Security Installation Technician (Iowa City)

Security Equipment Inc., (SEi) is seeking Installation Technicians for our Iowa City Office. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with knowledge of Burglar, Fire, IP Video, and Access Control Systems. This position will be responsible for Install in the greater Iowa City area.

Security Equipment Inc. has nearly a 48-year commitment to the latest in commercial and residential security and fire alarm systems. Started as a family enterprise in 1969 in Omaha, NE, the company now services over 16,000 residential and commercial accounts throughout the US. Essential Job Functions

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Install Access Control, IP Video, Hardwired and Wireless Burglar Alarm Systems.
• Ability to interpret specifications as indicated in work order to complete the installation of work.
• Utilize technical skills to read blueprints and schematic wiring diagrams.
• Ability to utilize a variety of hand tools and specialty equipment with proficiency
• Ability to identify, understand and utilize basic networking equipment and practices to complete necessary job functions.
• Ensures worksite is well organized during installation and clean up after completion of the job.
• Tests and troubleshoots installed systems following company protocols.
• Provides necessary end-user training for customers and their designees.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma. Technical School Training a plus.
• General knowledge of International Building Code, Life Safety Code and the ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Networking experience specifically with cable termination combination
• Prefer candidate with proficient knowledge of computer software, hardware, network infrastructure and IP schemes.
• General understanding or ability to learn electrical principles and circuits
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
• Ability to perform on-call duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted
• Carry and maneuver step and extension ladders from company vehicle to customer locations and from office to truck and back.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 40’
• Ability to work with tools from a ladder safely
• Ability to operate and work from a lift up to 50’
• Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time
• Bend, stoop, and balance in awkward locations such as attics, crawl spaces and hazardous locations at the customer premises
• Employee must possess sight, hearing, and full mobility of wrists and fingers
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely

Security Equipment Inc., (SEi), is seeking installation and service technicians for our Kansas City, Kansas Office. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with knowledge of Burglar, Fire, CCTV, and Access Control Systems. This position will be responsible for installations and service in the greater Kansas City area and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with knowledge of Firelite, Potter, Radionics, Honeywell, Notifier, EST, Simplex and Silent Knight Systems. This position will be responsible for Fire Inspections in the greater Des Moines area.

• Troubleshooting skills and performs deficiency repairs as directed
• Assists with accepting brand new systems by providing acceptance tests teamed up with local AHJ. (Authority Having Jurisdiction, aka Fire Marshal)
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include weekends to meet customer demands
